I wish for you a Monday like mine.
I had the pleasure of visiting 2 potential venues for some clients getting married this fall. My friend, Sally, and I took full advantage of this gorgeous, sunny, January day and took off for our first stop: Marin Headlands. A beautiful, rustic, funky, eclectic, artsy venue just past the Golden Gate Bridge. They have several artists in residence displaying their original works as well as making the most of this former army barracks. If you know me at all, you wouldn’t expect that I would ever take a picture of a urinal, but this is art… Ok, enough potty humor. The space boasts an amazing working kitchen (my dream!) tin ceiling tiles throughout, an amazing staircase, and an unconventional seating arrangement for a ceremony. But, the best part of the venue is arguably the view leaving. Since our next venue was across town and we were going to be right by the Ferry Building anyway, we thought it was only right to stop for lunch. I have to say, this is one of my favorite places in the world. Once again, it did not disappoint. We stopped in to Cowgirl Creamery’s new venture “side kick” and had the grilled cheese & soup of the day. Montgomery Cheddar with mango chutney – hi! and the soup was crazy good. I’ve never had the pleasure of drinking cheese, but this was it. Cheesy bread croutons floating in cheddar infused broth with shaved brussels sprouts. Who thinks of this stuff? We took our winnings to the Wine Merchant where wine bar manager and the baron von tasten, Silas, set us up. Last stop, Winery SF on Treasure Island. My new favorite venue! The view is to die for, the space is a blank canvas of warehouse-high ceilings-exposed ductwork coolness with free parking and the music can blare all night long. Yippee.
I wish for you a Monday like mine.
