Today has been one of the saddest days in our little world. On a routine walk with Baxter this morning he barked at a strange dog in our neighborhood (also routine) then laid down and died. Our hearts are broken and spilling out is a treasure chest of happy memories, tears that wont quit, and an awful lot of dog hair. We’re grateful for the 7 1/2 shortest years of our lives, his sweet song and dance that greeted us whenever we walked in the door, his enthusiasm for sticks, the way he would let you know he wasn’t done being pet, how he would put his paw on you so you would stay right where you are. He would do anything for peanut butter and I would do anything to have him back.
