· First of all, there is no hair and make up crew. Why someone didn’t suggest I put on darker lipstick, I don’t know?
· A large portion of the first day of filming had me visit with 4 very important people. Our neighbor, Nan Norseen allowed us to “re-herd” her sheep, I rode my bike up to Nicewicz Farm to shop in the honor-system farm stand, and then, I shopped in my 2 favorite Concord boutiques, Nesting and Jack+Toba. Although Suzy Watters at Jack+Toba is seriously good tv, the time constraints required the painful decision to cut these interactions. I am so grateful for their involvement in the show and in my life.
· The narrator chose a few phrases that don’t accurately represent our plans for the property. Although, witty, I do not intend to use the barn as a “cash cow”, I also do not intend to host New England’s most exclusive events. It is VERY rustic and I know it appeals to a certain client… someone just like me J Lastly, the comment about “the barn that almost tore them apart, now brings them together” is no where near the truth. I adore my prince and he adores me back and if I thought for one second I was choosing a piece of property over the love of my life I would never have moved in.
· As you’ve read, we found out about the show after we had already moved into our house. With that in mind, I wish I could say the producer told me to be upset about that little blue barn, but I must confess, the Diva was all me. I truly was THAT upset about a barn that I didn’t even have to buy! I guess it is further validation that my heart really is with the barn in Bolton.
What was very accurate about the show was the disrepair that gorgeous barn is in. We have put on a new roof and phase two has included some necessary structural repairs, but she is far from ready for a party dress. I’ve received some requests for photos of the barn now that it is ready. Um, that is not the show that we were on! I love watching HGTV and the way that they completely renovate a hot mess into something dreamy in 60 minutes or less, but again, that is not the show we were on. All to say, if you are willing to wait for it, we’d love to host your event! Until then, we have beautiful lawns and a giant willow that would be perfect for your special celebration.
If you have no idea what I’m talking about or you missed our television debut, you can watch it here. You do have to pay $1.99, but my diva is pretty epic.
