And if they wish to make this perfect slice of heaven home, there will be an opportunity to meet and chat with expats who have done just that!

Meet Your Hosts
Wendy Harrop has been leading culinary-centric trips to France for solo female travelers since October 2021. Using her experience from a 3-decade career as a wedding planner, she intentionally curates itineraries that highlight her client’s comforts and needs as well as celebrating the entrepreneurs she partners with to provide exclusive and unique experiences.
Susan Hays has lived in France with her family for over 2 decades. Settling in the Charente Maritime and hosting guests in her stunning guest house has made her an expert in finding the most fabulous experiences and best-kept secrets of the area. After helping an expat locate the perfect property, (yes, the same Jeff that is our private chef!) she and her husband found their latest venture of House Hunting for clients looking to relocate to their beloved region of France.

Itinerary - This dreamy trip begins and ends in Bordeaux (order of excursions subject to change due to weather or an even more fabulous option. Trust us, we have your best in mind)
Day 1 - Bordeaux. We’ll meet for a long luxurious lunch at the Intercontinental Hotel before taking the 90-minute trip to Chateau la Chaussee. Private Dinner at the Chateau
Day 2 - Market, Lunch, & shopping in Saintes. Private Dinner at the Chateau
Day 3 - A glorious day on Ile de Re. Dinner in La Rochelle
Day 4 - Private Jewelry Class & Chateau tour. Dinner at the Chateau
Day 5 - Guided Chateau & Garden Tour, private lunch at the home of Susan Hays, Apero Hour River Cruise, Dinner in Port d’Envaux
Day 6 - Private Tour of Maison Ferrand Distillery (home of Wendy’s favorite, Citadelle Gin) followed by lunch and brocante shopping. Dinner at Chateau
Day 7 - Mid-morning departure to Bordeaux re-living a dreamy week together with life-long friendships as the more treasured souvenir.

The price for this tour includes accommodations at Chateau Chaussee (double bedroom with ensuite or private bathroom, all meals during the tour, private chauffeured ground transportation, assistance with translating and negotiating while making purchases, and assistance with shipping purchases home if required.
